FAQ

 Is parking available?

 Free parking is available. Large buses can be accommodated for the Kumano River Boat Ride.
Please note: Large and medium-sized buses cannot access the Dorokyo Gorge Tour boarding area.Also, the Dorokyo Gorge boarding area cannot be reached by public transportation (route buses, etc.).

 Is there an age restriction?

 Passengers must be 4 years of age or older to ride.

 What payment methods are accepted?

 We accept Cash and PayPay. (Credit cards are also accepted only for the Kumano River Boat Ride.)

 Is there anything I should prepare?

 Please wear comfortable shoes, as you will need to walk across the riverbank (Kawara) to board the boat.

 Can I bring luggage on the boat?

 Due to the small size of the boats, please limit carry-on items to the bare minimum (water, valuables, etc.).
Large luggage (backpacks, suitcases, etc.) will be transported to the disembarkation point via the Center’s shuttle bus. (This luggage transport service applies to the Kumano River Boat Ride only.)

 What is the difference between the Kumano River Boat Ride and the Dorokyo Gorge Tour?

 The Kumano River Boat Ride is a one-way course, approximately 90 minutes, touring the World Heritage Kumano River.* The Dorokyo Gorge Tour is a round-trip course, approximately 40 minutes, viewing the Dorokyo Gorge (a Special Place of Scenic Beauty). *A complimentary shuttle bus returns you to the boarding point for the Kumano River Boat Ride.

 Do the tours operate even in the rain?

 Yes, the tours operate in the rain. Please prepare your own rain gear (jacket and pants). Rain gear is also available for purchase at the boarding area:
・Rain Jacket or Pants: ¥150 each
・Raincoat: ¥300 (Please note: Stock is limited.)

 Can I take the tour without a reservation?

 Advance reservation is mandatory for both tours.
・Kumano River Boat Ride: Please book by 5:00 PM (17:00) the day before the tour.
・Dorokyo Gorge Tour: Please book by 3:00 PM (15:00) the day before the tour.
